Richard “Dick” Hansen and his wife Angela buy a truck and start hauling out of Jerseyville, Illinois. It’s a one-family operation, run out of the yard on Curtis Street where the office still sits today.

Five of Dick and Angela’s sons — Rick, Bruce, Phillip, Pat, and Scott Hansen — step into ownership. The fleet grows. The catchphrase — Keep on Truckin’ — starts showing up on trailers, hats, and paperwork.
